Urban Landscapes at a Gastronomic Restaurant for Vow Renewals in the Old Port of Montréal
I love when my couples think outside the box and decide on adventurous and unique ideas for their special day! This was the religious renewal of vows of Michèle and Stefan, and they created an incredible mix of charm, style and tradition for their special day. It all took place at the gastronomic Restaurant Mélisse in the Old Port, which was the perfect setting with their beautiful light fixtures and hanging greenery set along pink tones and terracotta.
The vow renewals were on the terrasse of the restaurant, and it was easily one of the most distinctive visuals I’ve captured! The couple exchanged vows in front of their pastor with the cityscape in the background with a three piece band, with the legendary saxophonist Dave Turner…they were awesome and nothing is better than live music in my opinion!!
After the ceremony was a German wedding tradition called baumstamm sägen, which is cutting a log together to symbolize the strength and endurance needed in a lasting marriage - they worked hard sawing and they made it look good!
That kicked off the party as champagne and oysters were served. Michèle’s friends surprised her, and her mother who flew in from Burundi, by bringing in professional African dancers for a small show that blew everyone away!
DJ Puppa Sacha kept up a great pace switching between Burundi music and top hits as the guests bounced between eating and dancing. There were so many thoughtful, aesthetic details throughout the day - fun facts on napkins, personalized vow books and a wooden wall hanging as their guestbook.
I so loved capturing their heartfelt and elegant day!
