Luxurious and Elegant Wedding Out of a Dream in Stunning Santorini
This is as close as I’ve ever been to a fairy tale. Lulu and Greg’s Santorini wedding was visually breathtaking with touches of elegance and luxury! The venue was at Cavo Ventus Luxury Villa in Akrotiri, a unique blend of historic and modern as it was built on, and around, an old stone mill. Lulu got ready on site, where the girls all coordinated robes while waiting for the reveal. Set against a stone, cavern-like backdrop, Lulu’s Kleinfeld’s dress reveal was picturesque and emotional. Greg also got ready at the villa, and looked very handsome in a tastefully classic tuxedo, highlighted by vintage cufflinks gifted to him by his father.
The ceremony setting was out of a movie! The distinctive flower arch, made up of a palette of Santorini sunset colors, was set in front of an incredible caldera view. It was a bit windy, which worked amazingly for Lulu’s cathedral veil as it blew naturally during the ceremony.
After the ceremony, we had an hour to zip around and take some portraits! We were able to get some unbelievable shots in front of a scenic bell tower with a background bathed in white. Next were our golden hour shots high on a cliff facing the caldera - it was magical!
We got back for the reception reveal - bursting with flowers complimented by twinkle lights, candles, and of course that mythical flower arch, the dining table was adorned by gold cutlery and crystal glasses. Lulu and Greg watched the sunset, and then the feast began with a traditional Greek meal, with lots of plate sharing!
The speeches were all touching and beautiful, the best being a heartfelt and funny speech by Lulu’s father, who is a University professor. He told the moving story of how they had moved to Canada when Lulu was young, and although she couldn’t speak the language at first, she excelled at math. He was so proud of how she worked her way to becoming the CEO of multiple companies, including GirlBoss, and being recognized as one of Forbes’ 30 under 30’s. He then went on a 10 minute tangent about math and couldn’t be stopped!
Lulu did a wardrobe change before the dancing and partying kicked off, and she looked stunning in an art deco, beaded short dress. One more fun surprise was the midnight snack - McDonald’s(!!!), which got a huge pop from the crowd!
I felt so blessed to be able to capture Lulu and Greg’s glamorous wedding, it was an exceptional experience and an exciting challenge out of my comfort zone! Take me back to Santorini.
