Elegant Autumn Wedding at the Four Seasons in the Heart of Downtown Montreal

Newlyweds on Mont Royal with autumn colors.

Details make perfection and Lara and JJ’s wedding at the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Montreal made those words impossible to dismiss. Lara and JJ live in Michigan, and while JJ is originally from there, Lara is from Montreal. Their love story started when they met at medical school and they both wanted to host their nuptials in Montreal as a bit of a destination wedding for JJ’s family and guests..

They both got ready at the Four Seasons. Lara’s dress was stunning, with a gorgeous lace-embroidered bodice matched with a simple but elegant baby’s breath bouquet and her something blue were Badgley Mischka shoes. The ceremony was at Mary Queen of the World Cathedral in downtown Montreal, and that was JJ’s first look as Lara came down the aisle. We went out to the Mount Royal lookout at Golden Hour for couples portraits, and the autumn foliage along with the light and cityscape peaking through the trees made for some breathtaking photos.

We continued their couple portraits on the Four Seasons terrasse, which ended with Lara and JJ enjoying a Cappuccino with Leonard Cohen in the background as the sun was setting. The reception was perfect. It was refined, tasteful and timeless - all the right details from their dinnerware to King Louis dining chairs, surrounded by a ton of white and pink roses with white orchids, set against candle light. The arch at the newlywed table was a glamorous work of art, loaded with eucalyptus and white and pink roses. NDG Florist crushed it!

Lara and JJ booked Soul Station Orchestra as their live band, and they played a wide variety of favorites, making for some great vibes on the dance floor! There were some emotional speeches for the bride and groom before the cake cutting. The cake was a four-tier masterpiece, which was the perfect exclamation point on a very classy and gorgeous wedding.
