Hooray! I’m so happy you’re here.

I’m Sadie, an intimate wedding and family portraits photographer based in Montreal, documenting real love.

My greatest joy is capturing moments that will become your family’s heirlooms. Photos that will fill your home with moments of life and love. Albums that your children and future generations will gush over. I’m here to celebrate you as you are.

I want to tell your story, beautiful and true. If you’re up for anything and game to get your dress a little dirty, we may just be the perfect match!

Montreal wedding and family photographer, Sadie Wiarda

A little about me.

From small town USA to Paris to Montreal, where I call home.

I was born and raised in Iowa, USA in a small town called Story City (yes, really!), where there was one stoplight and summer nights spent catching fireflies.

I have always had a creative mind - from as early as I can remember I was making and creating. From beaded keychains, eccentric lemon desserts, to capturing my first photos with a Polaroid camera I received for Christmas when I was 8 years old.

I went to university to pursue my passion for the arts, and went on to study photography in Paris, France. I caught the travel bug and traveled all over Europe, with Italy being a favourite destination, and where my love for Italian cuisine became an obsession. I never met a plate of pasta I didn’t like!

In 2011, before returning to the United States I decided to stop in Montreal, and have made it my home ever since. I was charmed by Montreal, and its unique blend of European and North American culture won me over. I began my career here in fashion photography and have worked with top brands including SSENSE, Dynamite and RW&Co, photographing and directing fashion editorials from Montreal to New York and Los Angeles.

My roots may be in fashion, but my heart is in love stories. In 2013, I started l’Orangerie Photographie and fell in love with capturing people’s stories from engagements to weddings to starting a family; milestone birthdays and anniversaries. I feel blessed that I get to do what I love everyday.
